Second Annual Dirt & Diamonds Showdown 14U and High School Round Robin Tournament

February 20 and 21, 2027 | Brighton, Colorado - Turf Fields | Six Game Guarantee

Get your team back on the field at the Second Annual Dirt & Diamonds Showdown, a USSSA sanctioned round robin tournament on all turf fields in Brighton, Colorado. If the weather is going to be cruddy we WILL cancel. 

Tournament Highlights

Entry Fee and Registration

$850 per team when paid directly through Venmo to @impactgoldfrench. Confirm the account using the phone number ending in 1335.

Credit card payments through USSSA are subject to processing fees (Total fee Due using USSSA is $893).

To Save $43 in Credit Card fees please pay by Venmo.

Registration is complete when payment has been received and the team’s entry has been approved. Space is limited.

Weather and Refund Policy

We will make every reasonable effort to play the tournament as scheduled. If severe weather, unsafe field conditions or circumstances outside the Tournament Director’s control require a change or cancellation, we will communicate the decision as early as reasonably possible. We will not play in miserable weather. 

Refunds are based on the number of games a team completes:

Applicable nonrefundable expenses may include USSSA registration fees, payment processing fees and umpire scheduling costs already incurred. The Tournament Director may adjust game times, game lengths, pools or the format when needed to complete as many games as possible.

Tournament Rules

The Dirt & Diamonds Showdown will follow USSSA Fastpitch rules, except where the tournament rules below state otherwise. The Tournament Director has final authority over tournament operations and rule interpretations.

Players, coaches and spectators must treat opponents, umpires and tournament staff with respect. Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in a warning, ejection or removal from the event.

Batting and Defensive Lineups
  • Teams may bat their entire roster or use a traditional batting order in accordance with USSSA rules.
  • Free defensive substitutions are permitted.
Game Format and Standings
  • This is a round robin tournament with no elimination bracket.
  • Teams are scheduled to play six games against six different opponents, with three games each day.
  • Games have a 75 minute time limit. No new inning begins after time expires, but the current inning will be completed.
  • First and second place in each division will be determined by final standings and USSSA tiebreaker procedures.
Run Rule
  • 10 runs after three innings
  • 8 runs after four innings
  • 6 runs after five innings
Tied Games

If the score is tied after the current inning is completed, play will continue using the International Tie Breaker. The player who made the final out in the previous inning will begin each extra inning on second base.

Protests

Judgment calls cannot be protested. A question about a rule interpretation must be raised with the Tournament Director before the next pitch or play. The Tournament Director’s decision is final.
