USA Elite Select Event Types

There will be a variety of event types for USA Elite Select Events.  There will be a both team and individual events (such as the Select 30 and the Futures Program).  Here are the Team Event types and a brief description of them:

World Fastpitch Championships & Futures World Fastpitch Championships

The World Fastpitch Championships will be the culmination of season long qualifying events held in the eight regions across the country.  This event will include 64 of the top softball teams in 12U/14U/16U/18U from across the country as well as international squads all descending on one location to compete for the World Fastpitch Championships.


WFC Qualifier Events

WFC Qualifier events will be open to all teams and are the most direct route to the World Fastpitch Championships.

Futures WFC Qualifier Events

Futures WFC Qualifier events (9U/10U/11U/13U) will be held as qualifiers for the Futures WFC in July. 

USA Elite Select Showcase Events

There are three different types of Showcase Events that USAES hosts.  The designation signifies the level of competition and Exposure as well as if Championship Berths are available at the event.

  • Championship Showcase
  • Elite Showcase
  • Regional Showcase

Championship Showcase

USA Elite Championship Showcase events are considered among the top Showcase events in the country.  These Showcase events typically have a National level field with select competition and the best players in the country.   Highlights of this level of event include:

  • Events must play down to a championship bracket.
  • World Fastpitch Championship Berth for Champions (12U-18U) 

Elite Showcase

These events are National Level Showcase events that are designed to showcase the talents of the players in attendance.  These events typically include an exhibition or round robin format with no definitive championship bracket.

Regional Showcase

These Showcase events provide Regional Exposure to the players and teams by showcasing the talents of the players in attendance.

USA Elite Select Invitational Events

USA Elite Select Events that are limited in field or size are designed to provide teams with elite level of competition.  There are two types of Invitational Events:

  • Championship Invitational
  • Invitational Event

Championship Invitational

These events are designed to provide a WFC or Futures WFC Berth based on the level of competition for the event.  Often times these events are designed to offer a high level of competition to a specific age group.


Often times these events are designed to offer a high level of competition to a specific age group or group of teams from a specific area or selection.  The Invitational does not include a WFC or Futures WFC Berth.

USA Elite Select Futures All American

Through regional individual combines, players will be selected to compete in Orlando, FL at the USA Elite Select Futures All American Games.  These games will host competitions at 10U/11U/12U/13U/14U with two teams from each region competing for the Futures All American Games Championship.
